Hundreds of American soldiers have been killed in the war in Iraq. Hundreds more have sacrificed in other ways. Including a soldier who returned home to Oklahoma Thursday night.
Christopher Schneider has come a long way for a man once given only 72 hours to live. His life was almost cut short after a head-on collision in Iraq. Schneider lost a massive amount of blood in the accident, and he lost his right leg.
After 18 surgeries, and three months in treatment he finally got to come home. "Every day is a bonus now. I can't have a bad day because I've had the worst day of my life and I survived it."
Schneider returns to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington in about a week.
