Some Tulsa third graders are learning about scientific testing using rats and hamsters.

The gifted and talented class from Phillips Elementary built this maze. They want to find out if the rodents will use their noses to find their way out.

Teacher Phil Boone says the experiment didn't exactly work as planned. "In scientific testing, it just doesn't work you have to retry and go back."

The rats and hamsters used in the project were donated by PTA Vice President William Ryan.
