EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) -- The brother of former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts remained free on bond Thursday after appearing on a first-degree murder charge.
Lawrence Watts, 52, made his initial appearance before McIntosh County District Judge Steven Taylor, who entered an innocent plea on Watts' behalf.
Watts is accused of shooting 49-year-old Anthony Greco outside his barbecue restaurant in Eufaula last week.
Watts, the older brother of the former congressman, was released last week on $30,000 bond.
Prosecutors asked the judge to increase Watts' bond, but Taylor let the $30,000 bond stand Thursday.
Watts and Greco allegedly had a dispute over whether Watts owed Greco money for some work he had done.
