Miss Okmulgee wins preliminary talent competition

(Tulsa-AP) -- Miss Okmulgee picked up a $1,000 scholarship after winning the first preliminary talent competition in the Miss Oklahoma pageant Wednesday night.

Dionne White won on a vocal rendition of "If I Could." The University of Tulsa senior studies elementary education.

Miss Queen of the West won the 500-dollar Newcomer Talent award.

Sarah Reed of Edmond won on a tap dance routine to "Mein Herr."

She is a sophomore dance and elementary education major at Oklahoma City University.

Miss Broken Arrow won the swimsuit competition award of 500-dollars. Bridgette Bartz of Broken Arrow is a senior at the University of Tulsa. She is a marketing and communication major.

The Miss Oklahoma pageant is being held at the Oral Roberts Mabee Center in Tulsa through Saturday, when a winner will be picked.
