Governor Brad Henry has signed the Cindi Broaddus Act into law.
The new law makes it a felony to throw anything off an Oklahoma bridge or overpass that could injure someone or cause property damage. Violators can be sentenced up to 10 years in prison.
The law is named after Cindi Broaddus, the woman who was burned when someone dropped a jar of acid through her windshield from an overpass. Cindi Broaddus is the sister-in-law of Doctor Phil McGraw.
