(Irving-AP) -- Bradie James and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys rookies have gotten the message from new coach Bill Parcells.

They need to start proving themselves.

James today said Parcells has talked about a "window" and still having to make the team. The linebacker and fourth-round draft pick says he and the others still have to earn their stars.

One of the first things Parcells did when the rookies reported for the first camp in April was remove the famed star logos from their Cowboys helmets.

Eighteen rookies returned with 32 selected veterans for another minicamp this week in Irving.

The Cowboys have about seven weeks before reporting to San Antonio to training camp. Six weeks after that, the regular season begins.
