(Stillwater-AP) -- The Oklahoma State women's tennis team defeated Oklahoma 5-to-2.

The Cowgirls fended off the Sooners Wednesday despite the absence of head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski, who had a severe case of the flu.

Assistant coach Luciano Battaglini led the team to pick up his first career collegiate coaching victory.

The Cowgirls won four of six singles and two of three doubles matches.

Oklahoma State hosts Texas Christian at the DuBois Tennis Center in Stillwater on Saturday. The squad is 8-and-5 overall, 3-and-3 in the Big 12 Conference.

The Sooners will face Texas Christian on Sunday at the O-U Headington Family Tennis Center. They fell to 12-and-3 overall, 3-and-2 in the Big 12.
