How prepared are we to work together in an emergency, where communication and coordination would be essential?
Rogers County Emergency Management tested its ability to work with area agencies Tuesday at the Port of Catoosa. They’ve conducted similar training before; Tuesday they added the military, the 63rd Civil Support Team.
They would be called in if a situation grew beyond the capabilities of local agencies. US Army evaluator, Lt Col Bob Castillo, "They bring in an analysis platform with that they can actually do chemical and biological analysis here on site."
Their job would be to work with local agencies to evaluate a contamination situation and determine how to deal with it. They could be called in the event of an industrial accident or even a terrorist attack.
