Tulsa businesses are stepping up to help our local schools. The Great Harvest Bread Company is donating the proceeds from everything sold in the store this Sunday.

Laura Simms, Salk PTA: "A portion of the money will go to the money will go to the Zarrow fund, and another part will be split between Salk and Byrd Middle School, to pay for programs and things we don't have because of the budget crunch in our schools."

The hours this Sunday are Noon until 5 PM. Great Harvest Bread is at 52nd and Sheridan in the Farm Shopping Center. School kids will be manning the counter and making change on Sunday.

The Tulsa Oilers hockey team is also helping to fight the school budget crisis. The Oilers have teamed up with Royal Printing and Copy Centers to print 50,000 vouchers redeemable for a ticket to an upcoming hockey game. The more vouchers redeemed, the more money for schools.

Corey McIntire, Tulsa Oilers General Manager, "They redeem them for a $10 ticket and for every voucher redeemed we will right a check to Tulsa schools for $4 for every voucher redeemed."

The vouchers are good for the February 28th match against the Wichita Thunder. For more information call 632-7825.

As of Thursday, the Zarrow Fund drive is up to $835,000.
