(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Between 33 and 55 Sears, Roebuck and Company employees in Oklahoma have lost their jobs in the company's latest round of cutbacks.
A Sears spokeswoman would not disclose the exact number of job cuts in Oklahoma, but says three to five jobs were cut at each of the eleven Sears stores in the state. She says most of those laid off were apparel sales department managers.
The job cuts are part of a plan to increase Sears' income by more than one (b) billion dollars. The spokeswoman says there are no plans to close any stores.
