(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa football coach Keith Burns says his team's 63-27 blowout loss at San Jose State marks the lowest point in his time at Tulsa.
The loss Saturday was the sixth straight for TU, which gave up 746 yards to San Jose's offense. It doomed any chance of Tulsa's first winning season in a decade.
Burns says he thought earlier his team could beat San Jose State.
But Tulsa's defense missed 26 tackles and gave up eight runs of more than 20 yards. This week, Burns says he plans to shuffle his defense in hopes of finding the right mix of players.
The Spartans scored the most points against a Hurricane team in 13 years.
Tulsa has little time to correct things. TU faces Oklahoma this Saturday at Norman.
