The American Heart Association is doing more than fighting heart disease; they are helping save lives right here in Tulsa. They spent the day, Monday, training employees at the local Blue Cross and Blue Shield office how to use an Automated External Defibrillator or AED.

Defibrillators are an important link to CPR. They can be a matter of life and death in certain types of cardiac arrhythmia. Blue Cross Medical Director, Dr Rodney Huey "I think every employer should have associates trained in CPR. That's only a piece of it and AED's are the treatment of choice for that."

52 Blue Cross employees are being trained to use the AED’s.
