VASHON, Wash. (AP) _ Organic energy bars were recalled in six states Tuesday after the company that produces them learned they contain milk and could sicken people who are allergic to dairy products.
BumbleBar Inc., of Vashon, issued a voluntary recall on 86 cases of its 1.6-ounce Chocolate Crisp BumbleBars and urged people allergic to dairy products not to eat them.
The chocolate used to make the bars was made with milk. No illnesses were reported.
The tainted bars were distributed in Washington, California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana and Arizona. The cases were manufactured this year between March 31 and July 25.
Production on the bars has resumed with the use of dairy-free chocolate.
Consumers are asked to call 800-964-4832 for questions or return information.
