They featured a different kind of excitement in Tulsa Friday. It was an opera like none you've ever seen. It’s opera, one that combines African rhythms with American hip-hop. Another number featured an Old West theme.
The young performers have been attending a Tulsa Opera Summer Camp at the Tulsa's Greenwood Cultural Center. Fai Walker with the Greenwood Cultural Center says "It's important that we not only expose them to the opera, but any art form. "You know the world is a smorgasbord, let 'em eat, let 'em sample, let 'em see."
75 students participated in the two-week long camp, which combined music, culture and history.
