You might not think of Oklahoma as a big sushi state. But a national chain says it sells more sushi in Oklahoma City than anywhere else in the country.
The Super Target in northwest Oklahoma City is the "sushi capitol" of all of its 200 US stores. The company says one reason it's the top seller is, it has a full-time chef who makes fresh sushi seven days a week.
The sushi success surprises store managers and customers. Target store manager, Camille Pugh, "I knew it would be good but it didn't think it would take off the way it did but it really took off from day one when it opened.â€
Customer Susie Rel, "this is my favorite spot of course it's the only spot I know of in town where you can buy it fresh."
The Tulsa Target Supercenter also makes fresh sushi in its deli.
