SYDNEY, Australia (AP) _ Five of the world's top 10 women and a former No. 1 will play in the Adidas International tennis tournament in January, organizers announced Friday.

Jennifer Capriati, the world No. 3 and Australian Open champion, Belgians Kim Clijsters (No. 4) and Justine Henin-Hardenne (No. 5), as well as No. 6 Amelie Mauresmo and No. 8 Daniela Hantuchova, will compete at the Sydney International Tennis Center at Homebush Bay from Jan. 5-11.

Also included in the field is former No. 1 Lindsay Davenport, Alexandra Stevenson, Anastasia Myskina and Anna Kournikova.

Capriati will be seeking her 14th career title. She won the title in 1993 and was a finalist in 1997. The 26-year-old Capriati won her second straight Australian Open 10 months ago.
