(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops says he likes the way the Sooners schedule is helping prepare the team for the Big 12.

After opening at Tulsa, OU was challenged by Alabama last week and now takes on Texas-El Paso before getting a week off.

Stoops says he's happy the Sooners were challenged in the second week and responded with a come-from-behind win.

The Big 12 opener is October 5th at Missouri.
