A sheriff's deputy in Osage County shot and killed a man who was coming it at him with a knife.

It happened Thursday afternoon in Osage, in southern Osage County. Sergeant Charles Redfern and another deputy responded to a call about a man armed with a knife who was refusing to leave a home.

50-year-old Kenneth Brown charged the deputies when they arrived at the home. Sergeant Redfern fired several shots, killing Brown.

Redfern has been suspended with pay.
