(Broken Bow-AP) -- DNA tests show a skull found in a field near Broken Bow belongs to a girl missing for three years.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kym Koch says the skull it that of 12-year-old Crystal Day Kindrick.

Kindrick disappeared in July 1999. Broken Bow Fire Chief Robert Peavy found the skull while hunting turkey on property near his home.

Authorities say Kindrick may have been killed at the house of her stepfather Danny Taylor.

Taylor has not been charged. He's currently serving a life sentence in Nevada for an unrelated killing in 1991. Taylor was charged with that crime four months after Kindrick disappeared.
