(Stillwater) - An Oklahoma State golfer is in Ireland representing his country in the Palmer Cup.

OSU sophomore Hunter Mahan teamed with Texas' John Klauk yesterday to split a pair of matches against a combined Britain and Ireland team.

Mahan and his partner won in four-ball action but were downed in alternate shot play.

The competition features the top college players from the United States against their counterparts from Britain and Ireland.

The U-S has a four-point-five-to-three-point-five lead after one day. Day two consists of singles matches.

Mahan will takes on Britain's Justin Walters today.
