Tulsa man taken to hospital following standoff

Police were called to a standoff in East Tulsa late Tuesday. A man holding a gun to his head was parked in the Conoco station at about Pine and Harvard. <br><br>Officers backed off and called for help.

Police were called to a standoff in East Tulsa late Tuesday. A man holding a gun to his head was parked in the Conoco station at about Pine and Harvard.

Officers backed off and called for help. Tulsa Police Captain Daryl Webster, â€œSo after a standoff of a couple of hours, we negotiated with him, he agreed to put the gun down and get out of the car and he was taken into custody.â€ Police had to block off Pine between Harvard and Lewis for several hours.

The man was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
