Saturday, Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune took steps to keep his campaign promise of reaching out to all Tulsans. He issued a Fair Housing proclamation, declaring the city's commitment to equality for everyone in the housing market.
LaFortune is especially reaching out to Native Americans, but says people of all races can benefit. Carol Ainsworth, investigative coordinator for the City of Tulsa, "We had training programs on buy homes, renting, eviction process, fair housing and how to shop for a mortgage."
April is Fair Housing month.
