(Iowa City-AP) -- Top-ranked Minnesota turned in a solid performance this morning in the quarterfinal round of the N-C-A-A wrestling championships, while six-time defending national champion Iowa slipped.

The Golden Gophers, who've never won an N-C-A-A title, are in first place with 87 points. Oklahoma State is next with 74-and-a-half points.

Iowa, which has won nine of the last ten national championships, is third with 65-and-a-half points.

The Hawkeyes are followed by Illinois (55), Oklahoma (45), Iowa State (43-and-a-half), Michigan (33-and-a-half), Nebraska (33), Wisconsin (32-and-a-half) and Lehigh (27-and-a-half).
