(McAlester-AP) -- McAlester residents won't be without shade this summer, thanks to a Tulsa-based environmental group and others.

Up With Trees will plant several trees in McAlester's Rotary Park to replace trees damaged by the Christmas Day ice storm.

Rotary clubs in Tulsa and McAlester and two businesses are also lending a helping hand to the project.

Wendland Nursery of Tulsa is donating the trees, and Mill Creek Lumber will transport them to McAlester.

Up With Trees specializes in roadside beautification projects and plants trees on sites sponsored by individuals, companies and civic clubs.
