(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa County prosecutor Tim Harris says he's glad he found evidence that led to a stay of execution for a convicted killer.

Robert William Clayton was to be put to death last night for the 1985 murder of a Tulsa woman, but a 30 day stay was issued on Wednesday to allow D-N-A testing of the evidence.

Harris says he's glad he found the items that include coveralls and a knife, in order to be fair. But Harris says he doesn't believe it'll show that Clayton is innocent.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson agrees with Harris and says he'll ask the state Court of Criminal Appeals to set another execution date at the end of the 30 day stay.
