NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The University of Oklahoma at Tulsa will offer two new technology degrees programs, including master's degree in computer engineering and information studies.
An electrical engineering pregraduate academy, focused on retraining graduates of physics programs to better prepare them to enter graduate studies in telecommunications, computer engineering and electrical engineering, officials said in a news release on Monday.
The new programs, designed to address specific needs identified by Tulsa businesses, will be offered on OU's Schusterman Center campus in Tulsa.
Two additional programs also being considered include a master's degree in educational technology and a master's degree in information studies, officials said.
The new telecommunications program is in response to the growing need by the state's information technology and network communications companies for information technology employees.
OU-Tulsa will work with local employers to attract qualified undergraduates to Tulsa to work while attending graduate study in their chosen technical disciplines, officials said.
