KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee defensive end DeAngelo Lloyd is walking and moving fine after bruising his spinal cord in the final minutes of the Volunteers' loss to LSU.
However, Lloyd is not expected to play Saturday at Georgia and coach Phillip Fulmer refused to speculate when he will return to action.
``We will be cautious with it,'' Fulmer said Sunday. ``We're just grateful and thankful that it wasn't more serious than it was.''
Lloyd, kicked in the back of the head during a pass rush, was carried from the field Saturday to a local hospital in Baton Rouge. X-rays proved negative.
He returned with the team on Sunday and was scheduled to undergo further tests on Monday.
''(Lloyd) is walking and moving around fine,'' Fulmer said. ``I don't think there's any permanent damage, but until the doctors tell me that for sure, I'd be speaking out of turn.''
