LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Coalminer's Daughter was named after The Farmer's Daughter.

Loretta Lynn, whose life was recounted in the movie ``Coalminer's Daughter,'' was named after Loretta Young, who won the Oscar for best actress for her performance in ``The Farmer's Daughter'' in 1947.

Lynn reflected on her namesake this week as family and friends gathered for Young's funeral Wednesday in Cathedral City.

``Mommy papered the wall with movie magazines and she named me after Loretta Young. She had pictures of Bette Davis, Claudette Colbert and Loretta Young up on the wall,'' Lynn said Tuesday.

``The day before I was born she said, `If this baby is a little girl, I'm going to name her after one of these girls. I kept looking at the pictures and I thought Loretta Young was the prettiest. So, I named you Loretta.'''

Lynn said she loves the name.

``Lots of times I wonder if I would have made it in country music if I was named Claudette,'' Lynn said.

Young died Saturday of ovarian cancer. She was 87.
