(Tulsa-AP) -- A year after an A-C-L tear tore into his N-B-A plans, former Oklahoma State basketball standout Adrian Peterson still hasn't given up hope on playing in the big time.
The injury last year happened while Peterson was competing in the N-B-A's invitation-only pre-draft camp in Chicago.
On the day he had planned on being picked in the 1999 N-B-A Draft, Peterson was in the hospital undergoing reconstructive surgery. Now, Peterson admits he's going to have to find a back door into the N-B-A, a process he's beginning this summer playing for the Oklahoma Storm of the United States Basketball League.
The Enid-based team is headed for the league playoffs, but Peterson admits he's not the same player he used to be.
His coaches, though, say Peterson is improving and that if anyone can overcome the odds, Peterson can.
