(Grove-AP) -- A nine-year-old girl remains in critical condition after she fell off a boat at Grand Lake.

Alexandra Jablonowski from Kansas, Oklahoma was transported to a Tulsa hospital by helicopter, and then transferred to a Kansas City, Missouri hospital.

Authorities say Alexandra was riding in the front of a 19-foot runabout boat when a large wake hit the vessel on Tuesday. She was thrown into the water and the boat slammed down on her.

Officials credited the parents with doing the right things. Alexandra and her siblings had life vests on and her father hit the kill switch on the boat to keep the motor from running over her. Her mother jumped out of the boat to get her.

She suffered from a broken arm and three broken ribs. One of her ribs punctured a lung, causing it to collapse.
