(Washington-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State coach Leonard Hamilton appears to be headed to the Washington Wizards.

Attorney for the University of Miami coach Nick Christin says details still need to be finalized. Christin says he believes they'll have the deal done by Thursday.

Hamilton has been talking with Michael Jordan, the Wizards president of basketball operations, concerning the coaching vacancy for more than two weeks.

Hamilton has reportedly has told Jordan he'll take the job.

The major obstacle to Hamilton's departure from Miami was a buyout figure for his contract. That was settled Saturday when Hamilton agreed to pay $1 million million if he decides to leave. Hamilton signed a seven-year, $5.5 million contract extension in April.
