SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- The Shreveport Captains beat Tulsa 11-9 in Texas League action.

The loss Sunday dropped the Drillers to 11 1/2 games behind the East-leading Captains.

Shreveport scored six runs in the first and never trailed, despite the Drillers getting four runs in the seventh to cut the Captains' lead to 9-8.

But Shreveport countered in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single by Yorvit Torrealba, who went 4-for-4, and an RBI triple by Doug Clark to make it 11-8.

Tulsa's Jason Grabowski drew a leadoff walk in the eighth and scored on a Shawn Gallagher double.
