(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Governor Keating says lessons learned from the Oklahoma City bombing helped officials in the aftermath of the May 3rd tornadoes.
The governor spoke this morning at a national symposium designed to review the tragedies and lessons learned from the deadly tornado outbreak. He says unlike the bombing, the tornado disaster area was spread out among many local jurisdictions.
But he says just like the bombing -- bringing every one together, figuring out who was in charge and dividing the workload did wonders to mitigate the aftermath of the tornado.
The symposium goes until Wednesday and has drawn about 500 officials, meteorologists, scientists and relief workers from across the United States.
