(Oklahoma City-AP) – An Oklahoma County jury acquitted a man blamed for killing a Midwest City firefighter during a traffic accident.
Shawn Keith Fisher was found innocent of negligent homicide which is a misdemeanor. Attorney Don Easter says Fisher is relieved but still faces a civil lawsuit.
Midwest City firefighter Jim Clark died three days after being struck helping at a wreck on August Fifth on Interstate 40.
The 24-year-old Fisher was accused of driving too fast for the rain-soaked conditions. Easter argued that Fisher was not at fault, but that it was just a terrible set of circumstances.
Fisher didn't testify.
