Claremore police arrest a school administrator in a drug bust. The woman was not a teacher, but authorities say she is a former principal.
Undercover agents arrested Margaret Ledbetter Friday afternoon. Police say Ledbetter was selling a prescription pain killer called "lortab". Investigators searched her home for additional evidence.
Ledbetter is a veteran employee at Claremore Public Schools. She works in the administration office as director of special services.
"And she's in a position of trust, she's in charge of grants and extra curricular activities the schools do, special servies, red ribbon week, involved with the youth a lot so those are things that concern us, and we'll look into that,†says Lt. John Cummings, Claremore police.
Police arrested Ledbetter on complaints related to the possession and distribution of drugs, and insurance fraud. Investigators say she asked an undercover officer to take her car - which she then reported to police as stolen -- to make a claim on her insurance. She has not been charged.
