The Oklahoma Senate has approved a bill to legalize tattooing in the state.
The vote was 30-to-15. The bill has the support of the State Health Department. It's pushed the measure because of the rising health risks from unregulated tattoo artists. Hepatitis C and other diseases have gone up in recent years.
The bill would put the health department in charge of licensing and regulating tattoo parlors.
It now goes to the state House.
