TROY, Mich. (AP) _ Sears, Roebuck and Company and K-mart will hold special meetings of their shareholders on March 24th to vote on the companies' proposed merger.

The meetings will be held at Sears headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, which will serve as headquarters of the combined company after the merger.

The new company will be called Sears Holdings Corporation, and it will trade on the Nasdaq market under the symbol SHLD.

K-mart's $11-billion acquisition of Sears will create the nation's third-largest retailer.
