BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ LSU is hiring two assistant coaches with ties to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma assistant Bo Pelini will join the Tigers as defensive coordinator and former Oklahoma State assistant Karl Dunbar will become the team's assistant head coach and defensive line coach.

LSU announced the moves Thursday, along with the hiring of former Middle Tennessee assistant Bradley Dale Peveto as special teams coach.

Pelini was Oklahoma's co-defensive coordinator for one season. Before that, he was the interim coach at Nebraska.

Dunbar starred as a defensive lineman for LSU and then spent six seasons playing in the NFL. He was a defensive assistant for the Chicago Bears last season.

Peveto coached defensive backs at the University of Houston for four seasons before joining Middle Tennessee in the same capacity in 2003. He moved to defensive coordinator last season.
