Tulsa Police continue to investigate a murder-suicide at Tulsa’s Lowrance Electronics plant Thursday afternoon.

The dead are identified as Kathy Baker, who worked at Lowrance, and her former husband, Cory Baker[pictured], the alleged gunman.

Police say it happened at 1:30PM when Cory Baker, carrying a gun, entered Lowrance Electronics at 12000 East Skelly Drive. The Tulsa Police Special Operations team was on the scene moments after the shooting was reported.

After a search of the facility, police officers found the bodies of Kathy Baker and her ex-husband Cory inside.

When Cory Baker entered the plant, all Lowrance employees quickly evacuated the building. Evacuations also occurred at a doughnut plant next door. Nearby East Central High School was locked down as a precaution and eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 in the area were closed for about an hour as police searched the building.

After finding the two bodies inside, I-44 was re-opened to traffic.

The News on 6 has learned Kathy Baker filed a protective order against her ex-husband just a couple of hours before Cory Baker killed her. Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies had not yet served the order on Cory Baker, when he went to Lowrance Electronics.

News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright says Tulsa Police didn't know Kathy Baker, but know she really cared about other poeple. They say she was so worried about the deputies who would have to serve the protective order that she actually went by the sheriff's office Thursday morning to warn them. They say she also shoved a woman out of her Lowrance office to safety when she realized her ex was there with a 12-gauge shotgun.

She wrote in her protective order that her ex-in-laws called her Wednesday to say Cory had stolen his mother's car might have a gun and was on the loose. She said they warned her because he had been calling her constantly and sending her harassing emails.

She said Cory had also forced her against her will to Fort Gibson Lake where he threatened to kill himself in her presence with a knife. The couple had divorced last November after getting married in 1996.

Lori Fullbright also learned Cory Baker had four warrants out of his arrest. They stem from arrests last fall where he's accused of embezzlement and forging prescriptions in order to buy drugs.
