OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma Gas and Electric is considering buying more electricity generated from wind power.
OG&E is asking wind energy developers to bid on an electric generation project. The plan would add 80 megawatts of wind-generated electricity to the OG&E system.
OG&E isn't committing yet to buying more wind-generated electricity. A decision is expected during the first three months of 2005.
About 9,000 customers signed up to buy at least some of their electricity from OG&E's first wind farm, triple the number expected.
OG&E spokesman Brian Alford says it's been more than a year since the company looked at the price of wind power and in that time the cost of natural gas has increased.
