ENID, Okla. (AP) The operator of an Enid home daycare where two children walked away over the weekend is shutting down until an investigation is complete.

The Department of Human Services says Martha Hernandez did so after the boys, ages three and four, wandered away Saturday night while she was upstairs cleaning. Police say she left the children playing in the living room.

A restaurant worker spotted the two boys about 7:40 PM and called police.

Neither was wearing a coat as temperatures dipped below 50 degrees.

Hernandez says she noticed the boys were gone and contacted their mother, who looked for them at a local McDonald's.

She and the mother eventually went to the police station.

Hernandez has been licensed to operate a daycare since August 31st, when DHS granted her a six-month permit while investigating her application to run a child care operation.
