A community gathers to celebrate an eastern Oklahoma solider injured in Baghdad. It was a hero's welcome for Anthony Brawdy in Mounds on Saturday. Girls Scouts even painted flags and presented them to him. Brawdy was hit by a bomb back in September and has been recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and he still has one more surgery before he's home for good.
It's been an emotional time for Brawdy and his wife, Meaghan. She quit college and went to D.C. to be with him while he was recovering.
The Blue Star Mothers and VA hosted the event. There was supposed to be a plaque, but we're told it wasn't quite ready yet.
