OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Chesapeake Boathouse will offer free rowing lessons as part of what it has dubbed the second annual ``Opening of the Oklahoma River.''
The festivities on March 31st will include races featuring high school rowers from Oklahoma City, Tulsa and other states and college teams from Oklahoma City University and Oklahoma State University.
The boathouse will be open for tours and will offer rowing instruction, kayaking and dragon boating for free. Lessons are for people ages 12 and up.
Dragon boating is inspired by ancient Chinese boats, and the vessels used in modern times also have large dragon heads at the bow and stern.
