UNDATED (AP) The regional semifinals start Thursday night with four games. Play in the South Regional picks up at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The first game has 32-3 Memphis playing 27-6 Texas A&M while in the second contest top-seed Ohio State, with a record of 32-3, squares off with 24-10 Tennessee.
The Buckeyes and Volunteers met during the regular season with Ohio State winning in January on its own floor, 68-66.
Other games are being played in San Jose with a spot in the West Regional final at stake. The opening game has 32-4 Kansas, the top-seed, facing 29-6 Southern Illinois while the final game has 28-5 UCLA going against 29-7 Pittsburgh.
That game could be called the Ben Howland game as he left Pitt for southern California and a job with the Bruins. The Panthers are now coached by Howland disciple Jamie Dixon, who coached with Howland while he was in charge at Pitt.
The final regional semifinal games will take place Friday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey and St. Louis.
