GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) _ An opera-singing 6th-grader from Goldsboro has won CBS-TV's national talent competition.
Madeline Edwards won The Early Show's ``Living Room ... Live! Kids'' with a submitted video of her singing of ``O Mio Babbino Caro,'' from an opera by Puccini.
Edwards, who won the 3 month competition with 41 percent of the votes cast online, will perform live on the CBS show this Tuesday.
She advanced to the final round against Katherine Fritsch, an 8-year-old from Raleigh, who sang the ``Star-Spangled Banner,'' and a rock band from Coweta, Oklahoma called Crooked X that performed an original tune.
You can check out the ‘Crooked X’ video submission by going to The Early Show.
Edwards, who aspires to become an opera singer, has been performing since she was 4.
