OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Two New Mexico men are in custody after police found about 600 pounds of marijuana in a boat they were pulling on Interstate 40 in Canadian County.

State Bureau of Narcotics officials say Roger Gomez and Obed Gonzalez of Albuquerque were stopped for following too closely. The two gave officers permission to search their car and the boat and the marijuana was found stuffed in the boat's engine compartment, seats and other areas.

Narcotics bureau spokesman Mark Woodward says the drugs are worth about 900-thousand dollars and are believed to have been picked up in El Paso, Texas. Officials say they're not sure where the two men were headed.
