OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Poteau state Senator Kenneth Corn wants President Bush and Congress to use whatever powers necessary to halt rising gas prices.

Corn says many working Oklahoma families can't afford the skyrocketing increases.

He says he's afraid the prices will cause many small businesses to close their doors and that the economy will plummet on main streets across the nation.
