OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A housekeeper at a south Oklahoma City motel says she didn't even think about keeping two wads of cash she found while cleaning a room at the motel.
Mary Williamson found the two rolls of bills in a room at the Swank Motel and immediately notified the motel manager, who turned the money over to police. The manager says the room had been rented by a man who never returned the room key.
The bills totaled nearly $8,000 _ or about nine months salary for Williamson and she may end up getting the money.
Police say they generally hold such property for 40 days and if no one claims it, it is usually given to the finder.
