A Good Samaritan saves an adult and five children from an apartment fire early Tuesday morning.

Officials say about 1 AM, a passerby noticed smoke coming out of an apartment at the Park View Terrace near 61st and Union, and began knocking on the door.

She ended up kicking in the door and waking up five children and one adult sleeping inside.

Everyone made it out of the apartment safely.

Tulsa fire crews arrived and quickly put out the fire before it spread to other apartments.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Officials say the apartment's wired-in smoke detectors did not work.
