Police are still looking for the driver in one of two separate wrecks where cars flew off the expressway into nearby buildings.

One slammed into a storage facility. Another took out the garage of a house where neighbors say it happens all too often.

News on 6 reporter Heather Lewin talked to Karen Downs. She says living just feet from the Broken Arrow expressway, it's not that unusual for drivers to take a detour right onto her front lawn.

"We were scared to sit on the front porch or charcol or anything," says Downs.

Luckily, a neighbor's garage stood in between the highway and homes when around 2 AM Monday, a driver plowed right into it. Then, despite the damage, got out and took off.

"The 15th street exit is very dangerous," says Downs, "people go too fast, they try to get that exit and the next thing you know they wreck."

In only three years at this home, she's seen three pretty spectacular crashes. This one is the fourth she knows of and she still can't believe no one's been hurt.

"Another car swerved to miss an animal, came through the barrier, landed in our yard, knocked down the barrier and the tree," recalls Downs.

Neighbors say it wasn't until a couple of months ago that the city came and put up steel barriers reinforced with concrete, a move they say will keep runaway cars from landing in their living room.

"So I feel safer with the barriers that's up there now," says Downs.
